Nineteen Acorn FCCLA members and their adviser attended FCCLA Region VI Leadership Training today at Lake Hamilton. Students participated in hands on training to grow their leadership skills and learn more about running for office. Members networked with other students from across Region VI. Kora Carter and Damon Cruz helped facilitate the training. Before leaving, they were able to grab a picture with Region VI President and former Acorn FCCLA member, Colten Quebedeaux.

AHS Construction Trades - Putting Skills to the Test
Acorn High School Construction Technology Instructor Ricky Dollar is overseeing and facilitating a practicum project on the Acorn School’s campus with students enrolled in this Career and Technical Education Pathway - Agriculture: Construction Technology. Students are refurbishing a storage building on the Acorn campus and putting their skills to the test.

Saturday, October 7th at 7 PM in the Acorn Cafeteria, AHS Band and Choir will be hosting a Fall “Fun”D Concert and collecting “ready-made” meals, snacks and drinks for the Backpack Program. Acorn High School Project Prevent Student Organization is hosting a Food Drive on November 1st for the Acorn vs Cossatot River Basketball Game at the Acorn Gym.

Acorn FCCLA attended the FCCLA District VI Planning and Election meeting at Lake Hamilton High School today. The 2023-2024 FCCLA District VI Officer Team was elected. Acorn Junior, Kora Carter was elected District VI First Vice President. Acorn Sophomore, Damon Cruz was elected Vice President of Parliamentary Law.
