Friendly reminder that Monday February 15th is a scheduled closing of ORSD for President's Day. Also, the weather is supposed to be coming in as well, so additional closings may happen. We will be communicating out to you about school as we see the weather events approaching. Teachers all across ORSD have prepared students for virtual learning next week just in case. Parents, thank you in advance for helping your students with at home learning. Our students are returning to school with their Chromebooks really well. Keep up the great work!

Due to school being closed today, the Crush Order deadline has been extended to Friday morning. Orders received on Friday may not be delivered until Tuesday depending on the number of orders received. Thank you for supporting the Acorn Cheerleaders!!
Oden Campus Announcement: THIS MESSAGE IS BEING SENT OUT AS A SAFETY REMINDER. The AFTERNOON CAR RIDER pick up route is the same as last semester. The gate will be opened after 2:28 PM. Please CAUTIOUSLY follow the signs, PICTURED IN THIS POST, all the way to the awning where elementary and preschool students will be loaded. STUDENTS COULD BE PRESENT ALONG THE ROUTE SO PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY. High school students should be picked up in the parking lot in front of the board room. If you are picking up elementary and high school car riders, please pick up the elementary students in the afternoon car rider pick up route first, then circle around and park in front of the board room to pick up high school students. Two morning drop off signs have been posted to signify where to drop off K-5 and 6-12 students respectively. Please do not drop off your child at school earlier than 7:30 am. The Jr. Girls WILL play tonight at ACORN at 5:00 in their first round of District. No vouchers required, pay at the gate.
The Jr. Boys WILL play tonight at LAVACA at 5:00 in their first round of District. If you haven't purchased tickets, Go online to TIcketLeap. BUS LEAVES AT 2:30.
ODEN CAMPUS ANNOUNCEMENT: Due to inclement weather, students will work remotely from home on February 11. Our staff and students who were present February 10 prepared by sending home needed materials. Our instructional staff will be prepared to work from home answering questions and supporting learning. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.(The dates were wrong on my first post.)
ORSD will be closed tomorrow, Feb. 11th, due to the threat of inclement weather. All students will continue assignments through virtual or packet instruction.

Today we sent home with our students their Chromebook or learning packets in case we are out for weather tomorrow. I will watch the evening news and the latest weather forecast before making a decision. I will post our decision to the ORSD facebook page as soon as possible. The Jr. High Boys games scheduled for tonight at Lavaca has been cancelled due to possible inclement weather. Game is rescheduled for 6:00 tomorrow at Lavaca weather permitting.

Acorn Juniors, the ACT State-Administered Test Registration in Mr. Spradlin's Room for 3rd and 4th hours today, Tuesday, February 9th HAS BEEN MOVED to Tuesday, February 23rd.
