Next week, April 27th-29th your child will be taking ACT® Aspire® assessments for 3rd-6th. The valuable data we gain from these assessments allows us to make evidence based decisions when addressing your child’s strengths, areas for improvement, and growth potential. This can give you an early indication of his or her likely readiness for the future, providing time to address areas where improvement is needed.
Important things to remember for next week:
• Make sure your child gets plenty of sleep the night before the tests.
• Have your child at school on time.
• Make sure your child has a nutritional breakfast.
• Encourage your child not to stress about this test, but to try their hardest to show what they have learned this school year.

ORSD: CDC’s Office on Smoking and Health (OSH) is launching a national communication initiative, “Protect Young People from E-Cigarettes,” to educate staff working in school settings about the risks of youth e-cigarette use. Youth e-cigarette use remains a public health concern. In 2020, nearly 1 in 5 high school students and 1 in 20 middle school students reported current use of e-cigarettes. E-cigarette use among youth is unsafe. Most e-cigarettes contain nicotine, which is highly addictive and can harm adolescent brain development. E-cigarettes come in many different shapes, sizes, and colors, some of which are easy to hide. Visit cdc.gov/e-cigarettes for additional information and resources about youth e-cigarette use.
