Mrs. Posey would like to announce the winners of the 2021 Earth Day K-3rd Coloring Contest. Students were read Otto the Otter and the Great Arkansas Mystery by Ron Wolfe, and learned how important it is not to litter. "Keep Arkansas Beautiful" is the motto of this fun, educational book.

To celebrate Earth Day this year, Mrs. Posey held a poster making contest in the library for grades 4th-6th. Students learned how to use Canva and made some amazing posters that showed they cared for our planet. There were over 45 students who entered this contest!!
Our top 3 winners are Ben Kincaid, Drew Mabry and Kipp White. Congratulations boys, you did a great job on your poster!
Acorn Elementary would like to thank Ryan & Regina Walker and all the staff at Allbaugh's Florist for the thoughtful teacher appreciation gift! Teachers enjoyed their snacks.

The Acorn High School Choir will be performing The NIFTY FIFTIES “A Musical Comedy Tribute to the 1950s” on May 7th, 8th and 10th in the Mary Davis Gym on the Acorn High School Campus. Doors open at 6:30 on Friday and Saturday with the show beginning at 7:00. (Monday - doors open at 6:00 and show at 6:30). Tickets are $5 to be paid at the door. There will be popcorn and soda concessions available. Come out and support the Acorn Choir in their second full length theater production. This musical is written by Tim Kelly and lyrics and music by Bill Francoeur. It is ”Produced by special arrangement with PIONEER DRAMA SERVICE, INC., Englewood, Colorado”.

Water Fun Day
On Friday, May 21st, we will be celebrating the end of testing and school with a Water Fun Day with inflatable water slides and slip and slides!! Students will need to wear comfy clothes that can get wet. NO bathing suits!! Please also make sure your child wears shoes that can get wet or that are easy to slip on and off. (Water shoes are a good option)
Please send a change of clothes to school and a plastic bag for their wet clothes. Your child can also bring a towel and/or sunscreen.

Exciting news! It's time for Kindergarten Registration for the 2021-22 school year!
Kindergarten students for the 2021-2022 school year must turn five years of age on or before August 1, 2021.
Parents must submit the following:
1) A copy of their child’s shot record
2) Official Birth Certificate
3) Social Security Card
4) Kindergarten Physical
Registration forms have been placed outside the elementary office in the filing cabinet labeled Kindergarten Registration. Forms and all required documents can be brought to the elementary office between 9:00 a.m.-12:00 a.m., Monday-Friday, starting today.
