On Thursday, December 2nd, the Acorn High Wrestling team held their very first home meet against Maumelle. Here are a few words and stats from the coach, Mr. Andy Arnold:
"I want to say that I am very proud of these guys and gals!!! Everyone who got to wrestle gave it all they had and wrestled their hearts out!
Overall we lost the boys dual meet 42-18, and we won the girls dual meet 18-6
Here are the results from the individual matches:

Updated game times for the Acorn VS Caddo Hills games tonight at Caddo Hills due to their Homecoming festivities. Games will start approximately at 5:40 with Acorn Jr. Girls first, followed by the Acorn Sr. Girls , then ending with the Acorn Sr. Boys. GO TIGERS!!!!!


Attention Acorn Elementary Parents!!! There will be no after-school tutoring on December 7, 2021.

Oden High School’s live nativity play will be December 15th at 7:00 pm in the Bill Kelly Gymnasium.


AHS RECOGNIZED BY OFFICE OF EDUCATION POLICY
Acorn High School has been recognized by the Office for Education Policy at the University of Arkansas as a school, “Beating the Odds” through demonstrating high math growth on the ACT Aspire. Acorn High School received the following “Beating the Odds” award and recognition:
High Math Growth: High School Level (Southwest Region)
Awards are based on the 2021 content growth score calculated by the Arkansas Department of Education and reflect how much students improved from 2019 compared to how much they were expected to grow considering prior achievement.
The Office for Education Policy (OEP) is one of several research centers within the College of Education and Health Professions at the University of Arkansas. OEP staff includes faculty members, research associates and graduate students who specialize in education research and policy. OEP provides current national, state, and regional education research to support state lawmakers and educators in thoughtful decision-making in PK-12 education in the State of Arkansas.

Students at AES came back to school Monday to a big surprise! Our K-1 hall is a winter wonderland. ❄️☃️



Something exciting is happening at Acorn Elementary on December 13th, so mark your calendars. We are hosting a fun filled Family Literacy Night. This year we would like to invite all of our families to come and participate in the Great “Santa Escape”. If your family can solve all the tasks to escape you will have a sweet treat waiting for you at the end. So come join us for a fun Escape room experience, hot chocolate, cookies and FREE BOOKS!!!

The Acorn High School Band and Choir would like to invite you to their annual Christmas Concerts. The Bands (including Beginning and High School) will be performing on Thursday evening, December 9th at 7:00 PM in the Mary Davis Gym.
The High School Choir along with the 5th and 6th grade students will be presenting the musical Jingle Bell Jukebox on Monday evening December 13th at 7:00 pm in the Mary Davis Gym.

AHS Wrestling Team Season Opener
The AHS Lady Tigers Wrestling Team inaugural season kicked off on Tuesday, November 16, 2021. The Lady Tigers got their first dual win as a team and beat Fort Smith Southside in the first meet. In individual matches, the team members fared accordingly:
