Mrs. Larucci’s second graders recently wrote heartfelt letters to a Veteran of their choice to honor and show appreciation for their service to our country. Mr. Strasner visited the classroom and received several of these thoughtful letters, each one thanking him for his dedication and sacrifice. Our Dean of Students, Chad Frost, who also serves, was honored by students as well.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all Veterans—past and present—for your service, your sacrifice, and your commitment to protecting the freedoms we enjoy. Thank you for all you do for our country!

Hot Springs, AR — November 6, 2025
The Ouachita River School District (ORSD) cross-country team delivered an outstanding performance at
the Arkansas State Cross Country Championships held at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs. Led by standout
freshman Genevieve Simborio, the Lady Tigers captured a strong third-place team finish in the 2A girls
division field.
Simborio ran with poise and determination throughout the 5,000-meter course, surging late to place 4th
overall with an impressive time of 21:48.82. Her top-five finish capped off a stellar season in which she
consistently ranked among the top runners in the River Valley Region.
Backing up Simborio’s performance was a deep supporting cast that made the difference for the Lady
Tigers. Kylie Ezell crossed the line in 24:30.38 for 24th place, followed closely by Addisyn Ledbetter,
who finished 26th in 24:33.43. Josey Dollar ran a steady race for 38th place in 26:07.25, while Kloee
Husser (50th, 27:04.75) and Kaelyn Donald (59th, 28:12.10) rounded out the scoring for ORSD.
On the boys’ side, Zane Newton led the Acorn Tigers with a strong 25th-place finish in 20:19.63, closing
his season as one of the district’s most improved runners. Ayvaan Flores turned in a solid effort as well,
clocking 25:50.32 for 97th place in a large and competitive boys’ field.
With all the key runners returning next year, the future looks bright for ORSD cross country.
Congratulations to the AHS XC Athletes, Coach Keith Willsey and Coach Chris Ledbetter!
