AHS Class of 2026 Engage in LifePrep 101 Sessions
On May 5th, Acorn High School Class of 2026 participated in LifePrep 101 sessions hosted by the AHS Career and Technical Education Instructors. Makaila Goodner, AHS Business Finance & Managements Pathways Instructor hosted a session on Financial Literacy featuring presenters Raven Wagner and Samantha Rusert from Union Bank. Students learned about savings, loans, budgeting and investments. Mindy Lyle, Culinary Arts & PreEducator Pathways Instructor hosted a session on Personal Care and Home Care. Students learned about how to prepare a simple meal and basic laundry skills. Ricky Dollar, AHS Construction Technology Instructor and Jim Pennington, AHS Animal Systems and Ag Mechanics Instructor hosted a session on Vehicle Maintenance. Students learned about basic vehicle maintenance such as; changing wiper blades, changing oil and air filters, and changing a flat tire.
Thank you to our outstanding CTE instructors and Union Bank staff for sharing your knowledge, expertise and time with the seniors in helping to prepare them for life after graduation!
