AHS Students Compete in State Quiz Bowl All-Stars
On Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Central High School in Little Rock, Sam Strasner and Connor Bottomley competed in the Junior High All Star Quiz Bowl Competition. Zane Newton competed in the Senior High All Star Quiz Bowl Competition. Zane placed in the top 40 students in the state. Coach Amy Slater stated, "These competitions are for the top 100 scorers in the state; it is an accomplishment to be able to compete."

Acorn High School FFA Chapter Attend State FFA Convention
The 99th Arkansas FFA Convention and Expo held April 21 - 23, 2026 brought nearly 4,000 members to Hot Springs for a three-day celebration of agriculture, leadership, and competition. Highlights included the crowning of new state officers, presentation of prestigious State FFA Degrees, and top competition honors awarded in areas like agriscience, public speaking, and chapter leadership. Acorn High School FFA Chapter Advisor James Pennnington and high school members attending included:

The Acorn High School Class of 2026 were recognized for their achievements and commitments after high school graduation - employ, enlist and enroll. The invocation was presented by Acorn High School Fellowship of Christian Students Addisyn Ledbetter and Trey Martin.
Seniors were recognized for a number of scholarship offers and awards, signings and commitments to ENROLL in colleges/universities/technical schools - academic and athletic signings, ENLIST with military branches, and to EMPLOY in the workforce. Additional recognitions included: Seniors earning bronze, silver, gold and platinum levels achievement on the ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certification for industry-recognized credentials, 2025 AR Boys State Nation and AR American Legion Auxiliary Girls State delegates, AR Governor’s Scholastic Honors Day honorees, Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Essay Winner, and UA Rich Mountain Certificate of Proficiency and Technical Certificate graduates.
