Acorn Campus Picture Retakes will be Thursday September 28th for any Seniors and students that missed our first session or need retakes. We will also be taking Jr/Sr Girls and Boys Basketball and Cheerleading pics (individual and group). Picture proofs from original session have been sent home this week and attendance that day was wonderful! Thank you 😊

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires public school special education services consultation with private schools. For the purposes of IDEA, in Arkansas homeschool students are also considered private school students. On September 25, there will be a special education consultation meeting held in the board room of the Oden campus for students living in the Ouachita River School District who attend a private school or are homeschooled. The meeting will begin at 8:00 a.m. and will last approximately thirty minutes. Please contact William Edwards at 479-216-2251 if you have any questions.

ORSD Students Earn Top AP Exam Scores Ouachita River School District - Acorn and Oden High School students earned top AP (Advanced Placement) exam scores on the May 2023 AP exams. AP courses are offered in the disciplines of arts, English, history and social science, math and computer science, the sciences, and world languages and culture. Students earning AP qualifying scores may also be eligible to earn college credit and can be used for placement in college courses. Attendance Matters Every Person, Every Day Mrs. Powell's class takes the attendance trophy again for last week's 98% attendance rate. Way to go kindergarten! We also had several classes that had a 97% attendance rate. =)

AES "Pawsome" Awards for the week of September 11th-15th! We are super proud of our awesome little tigers for showing good character and making good choices throughout the week!

Attention parents and community members, Acorn Elementary's annual school fundraiser kicked off Thursday, September 14th. Packets went home with all the students. All money raised during this fundraiser goes towards our end-of-year Fun Day and rewards for students! Last year's Water Fun Day was a huge success and only gets bigger each year. AHS Recognizes Byrne as Contributing Writer Acorn High School junior, Louise “Luci” Byrne, loves to write..and she isn't waiting around for graduation to get started! ORSD XC Teams Compete In Tom Stuthard Stampede Ouachita River School District hosted the Tom Stuthard Stampede on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 on the Acorn Schools’ cross country course. Junior high and senior high teams from a number of schools participated with over 600 runners total registered that competed in the meet on the Acorn campus.
