Dear 5th and 6th Grade Parents, The students in 5th and 6th Grade this year will be performing their Christmas program with the High School Choir! This will make for an incredible show of students in grades 5 - 12. We have been working on Christmas songs for weeks now! This will be the only musical for 5th and 6th grade students this year. The show is titled Jingle Bell Jukebox The Flipside and we will be performing on Thursday, Dec. 14th at 7:00 pm in the Mary Davis Gym. It is a 1950s themed show and students will need to wear their darkest blue jeans (preferably no holes), white socks and we will be ordering matching T-shirts for each person. We are asking each parent to send $4 for their child’s shirt. BUT, we do not want anyone to not participate if they cannot afford the T-shirt! We will have the show at 7:00 and then following the show we will have an “Old Fashioned Sock Hop”. This should be an amazing memorable night for families as we head into the Christmas season! Please fill out the form below and send back along with the $4 to your child’s teacher. If you are willing to donate $4 for another student please mark that on the form. I am so excited about this show and look forward to seeing you! Please fill out the form below and return it to your child’s teacher by Wednesday, Nov. 29th. Thank you! Acorn Elementary's First Grade classes had the opportunity to tour the Martin Marietta Quarry in Hatton to learn about; the types of rocks found in our area, the process of mining them, where the rocks are exported to, and how materials are used in areas around the country. Students also learned about the type of jobs available at the quarry, toured some of the equipment, and were able to see the area the crew is currently mining from. Thank you Martin Marietta Quarry for giving our students the opportunity to come tour and learn about important things that support future careers! #lifeprep
