Steps to complete the process include:
1 - Complete the APPLICATION FOR SCHOOL CHOICE TRANSFER

2 - On or before May 1, 2025 deadline, submit the completed application.
Applications may be delivered or mailed to the Acorn campus or Oden campus or the Ouachita River School District Administration Office.
Oden Jr Boys and Both Sr teams are set to host Mt. Ida Lions on February 4, 2025 with games beginning at 5:30 pm.
Acorn Jr Girls and both Sr Teams to host Hackett on February 4, 2025, @ 5 pm.
National School Counseling Week is February 3rd - 7th, and at ORSD, we are proud to recognize and celebrate our outstanding school counselors.
We are incredibly fortunate to have three dedicated professionals who go above and beyond for our students daily: Tammy Young at Acorn High School, Apryl Philpot at Oden High School, and Kylynn Ledbetter, who serves both Acorn and Oden Schools.
Their hard work, compassion, and commitment to student success impact our school community. Thank you for all that you do!
VFW Post #4451 Recognizes AHS Essay Winners
Acorn High School students participated in the Voices of Democracy and Patriots Pen essay contests this past fall with students placing in top honors and were recognized by VFW Post #4451 at their recognition ceremony.

HEO Academy Visits Acorn High School
On Tuesday, January 21st, Ryan Speer, Director from Heavy Equipment Operating Academy met with Acorn High School students and presented various training opportunities and certifications students can obtain operating a variety of excavation equipment at HEO Academy. Enrollment, scholarships and housing options were also shared with students.

UWI Visits Acorn High School
On Friday, January 24th, Jeremiah Humphrey from United Welding Institute met with Acorn High School students to share information about enrollment and certifications students can obtain as well as opportunities to participate in welding skills competitions.

ORSD - Acorn Campus Receives Donation
Polk County Farm Bureau in partnership with Arkansas Farm Bureau Foundation and Hunters Feeding the Hungry Program, provided a donation of venison sticks to the Acorn High School Backpack Program. Charlotte Wiles, Polk County Farm Bureau Women's Committee Chair and Tony Hooper, Polk County Farm Bureau Agency Manager presented the generous donation to Dewayne Taylor, Acorn High School Principal.
