AHS Lady Tigers Tennis 2A-1 District Tournament Champions
The Acorn Lady Tigers and Tigers competed in the district tournament held in Fort Smith on October 2nd and 3rd. The Acorn Lady Tigers Tennis Team with Adaylyn Bohlman, Addisyn Ledbetter, KaitLynn Ledbetter and Lanee Shaddon were named 2A-1 District Tennis Tournament Runner-up - Co-Conference Champs!
The Lady Tigers Doubles Team with KaitLynn Ledbetter and Lanee Shaddon earned 3rd Place and Adalyn Bohlman and Addisyn Ledbetter were named 2A-1 Girls Tennis Doubles District Tournament Champions! The Lady Tigers Tennis Team advanced to State.

Acorns 4th Grade Harvest Festival Bake sale fundraiser!! Wednesday October 9th 530-8pm at James Super Save Foods
Students at Kathy Medford Preschool are exploring the roles of community helpers this month. They visited the Acorn Elementary library and met Mrs. Posey, who read books and discussed how she supports the community as a librarian.
Community Helpers Month provides an opportunity to appreciate and learn about the individuals who contribute to the safety, well-being, and education of our communities. This month-long focus allows young learners to develop a deeper understanding and respect for the diverse range of professions that support the needs of the local community.

ORSD Upperclassmen Tour UCA Campus
On Thursday, September 26th, a group of Acorn High School and Oden High School juniors and seniors toured the University of Central Arkansas campus in Conway. The tour began with a presentation and overview of UCA admissions, academic programs, scholarships and deadlines, student and campus life organizations, housing and dining options for students.
Following the presentation, UCA Student Ambassadors provided a guided tour of the campus to view dining, housing, student union, exercise facilities, and various colleges and schools within UCA as well as many other landmarks on campus.
It was a great tour and opportunity to visit with Acorn High School Alumni - Lulu Quebedeaux, UCA Ambassador who helped facilitate the campus tour and to say hello to Jake Lyle.
Thank you to the University of Central Arkansas student ambassadors and admissions staff for a great tour and presentation!

Acorn Campus Retake Picture Day and Sports Photos will be Thursday October 3. This includes any students that missed the September 6th date and Seniors that missed the August date. Basketball and Cheer picture pre-order forms have been distributed to players. (We will take PeeWee and Archery in January 2025.) Archery start today ! We are super excited for the season to begin. Practices will be Monday's 4pm-6pm, and Thursday's 4:13pm-6pm. They will be held on the Archery Range which is located in the Old Main Buildiing/Gym. If you have any questions please call 394-4833.
