Reminder: The AHS Choir will be performing for the High School at 9:00am on Monday, May 6th.
If you have not already done so, remember to turn your $2 in to Mrs. Slater or Mrs. Slaten to be able to attend. There will also be Coke and Popcorn concessions available for $1 each. The choir is looking forward to performing this musical for the High school!
Fishing Derby - June 2024
The US Forest Service Mena/Oden Ranger District Youth Fishing Derby will host a fishing derby on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the Oden Rifle Range Pond.
Registration begins at 7:00 a.m., fishing begins at 8:00 a.m., and the derby will end at 10:30 a.m. Youth ages 2-15 may participate. For directions or additional information call the Mena Forest Service office at (479) 394-2382.
Pre-registration is encouraged. To pre-register please e-mail:

Oden Students Visit HEO Academy
On April 29th, Oden High School students toured the Heavy Equipment Operating Academy in Bee Branch, Arkansas. Students were provided opportunities to demonstrate their skills using the excavation equipment.

Acorn FBLA Place At State Conference
The Acorn FBLA chapter traveled to Little Rock, AR on Monday, April 29th to attend the FBLA State Leadership Conference. Acorn High School students competing included:
Rebecca Bloodworth - Journalism
Clay McGee - Business Calculations
Shay Allen, Kora Carter, and Ava Smith-Hawley - Graphic Design
The Acorn FBLA Graphic Design Team of Allen, Carter and Smith-Hawley placed 3rd in the state with a score of 98/100 and their team also qualified to compete at the National Leadership Conference in Orlando, FL this summer.

The deadline for the school choice application process is May 1, 2024. The steps to complete the process include:
1 - Complete the Application for School Choice Transfer - click on application link: https://adecm.ade.arkansas.gov/.../School_Choice_Form...
2 - On or before the May 1, 2024 deadline, submit the completed application.
