Congratulations to the Acorn Junior High Girls Basketball team for receiving Runner-up in this year's conference and District tournament! These girls worked hard this season and have a bright future ahead!

ORSD Acorn and Oden Campuses will be closed Thursday February 18th and Friday February 19th due to inclement weather. Students are required to continue at home learning. Parents please help us continue to facilitate at home learning by checking your child's progress each day. If you have questions please contact us by giving us a call at school or emailing your child's teacher. I hope all of you are safe and warm.

ODEN CAMPUS ANNOUNCEMENT:Today is a remote learning day.The school is aware that some of our families are without electricity.We understand that water, heat, and electricity could take precedence.Please feel free to communicate with your child's teacher(s) or contact me if your family is dealing with issues that inhibit remote learning.
Update: ORSD will be closed at least through Wednesday.

Oden Junior Class worked extremely hard today to get all the Valentine's Day orders made and delivered. We did two days worth of work in one day. I am very proud of them. Thanks to all of the teachers at Oden for stepping up and helping us out and being patient with us. Special thanks to Robin, Nurse Leigh, Jacy and Halie for helping dip, sprinkle, drizzle, and bag our wonderful treats. And an Extra special thanks to Mrs. Carti-Mauk for helping with brownies and keeping us supplied in chocolate, eggs, and anything else we were short on.

Acorn High School has been awarded a grant in the amount of $65,480.02 to start a Culinary Arts program in their Family Consumer Science department. This new program of study will allow Mrs. Lyle's students to aquire skills and certifications they can use to gain employment within the culinary industry.
The Acorn Archery teams will have practice today until 5:00 today. (Please notice time change) We will find out the results of Regional Tournament and plan for the rest of the season.

Friendly reminder that Monday February 15th is a scheduled closing of ORSD for President's Day. Also, the weather is supposed to be coming in as well, so additional closings may happen. We will be communicating out to you about school as we see the weather events approaching. Teachers all across ORSD have prepared students for virtual learning next week just in case. Due to school being closed today, the Crush Order deadline has been extended to Friday morning. Orders received on Friday may not be delivered until Tuesday depending on the number of orders received. Thank you for supporting the Acorn Cheerleaders!!
Oden Campus Announcement: THIS MESSAGE IS BEING SENT OUT AS A SAFETY REMINDER. The AFTERNOON CAR RIDER pick up route is the same as last semester. The gate will be opened after 2:28 PM. Please CAUTIOUSLY follow the signs, PICTURED IN THIS POST, all the way to the awning where elementary and preschool students will be loaded. STUDENTS COULD BE PRESENT ALONG THE ROUTE SO PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY. High school students should be picked up in the parking lot in front of the board room. If you are picking up elementary and high school car riders, please pick up the elementary students in the afternoon car rider pick up route first, then circle around and park in front of the board room to pick up high school students. ODEN CAMPUS ANNOUNCEMENT: Due to inclement weather, students will work remotely from home on February 11. Our staff and students who were present February 10 prepared by sending home needed materials. Our instructional staff will be prepared to work from home answering questions and supporting learning. ORSD will be closed tomorrow, Feb. 11th, due to the threat of inclement weather. All students will continue assignments through virtual or packet instruction.
