
TIGERS' TENNIS TEAMS QUALIFY FOR STATE
The Acorn Tigers' Tennis Teams placed third in the 2A-1 District Tournament held on Monday, October 4th in Fort Smith. Represented on Acorn Tigers' Varsity Doubles Teams for girls tennis included: Paige Parnell and Cierra Burdess and AHS Boys Tennis Team members included: Reed McGee and Damian Bohlman.
This ranking qualifies Acorn Tigers' Tennis Teams for state to be played at Greers Ferry next week. Proud of you, Tigers!

SENIORS PROVIDED “HEAD START” ON POSTSECONDARY PLANS
On Monday, October 4th, University of Arkansas TRiO EOC Staff Kayla Davis, Amanda Holliday and Elizabeth Davis assisted Acorn High School Seniors with postsecondary plans and processes to help them be better prepared in pursuing their educational and career goals.
Seniors were provided guidance and assistance with creating FAFSA ID to help with filing FAFSA (financial aid and scholarships) and completing the application process for Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship and other state scholarships.
Ouachita River School District greatly values the partnership with UA Rich Mountain Academic Affairs and Student Affairs Divisions in helping our students be prepared for life. #orsdlifeprep


Acorn Food Production students setup their new icing printer today. This unique piece of equipment will be used by students to print customized images and words on cakes and cookies.


Ode Maddox Elementary was presented with a great magic show from Rich Mountain Electric to learn about electrical safety.




REMINDER! Acorn Schools' Harvest Festival will be held on Friday, October 8th - 6-8 PM in the Acorn Gymnasium. Join us in the fun at this annual community event!

The Ouachita River School District will be accepting sealed bids for the next three weeks on a 24 X 64 2-classroom portable building on the Acorn Campus.
Sealed bids should be turned into the Administration office by 12:00 pm October 22, 2021. If you wish to look at the facility Monday through Friday beforehand, please call Jackye Simon at 479-243-5677 to schedule an appointment. No appointments will be made on weekends to view the facility.

Flu shot forms went home today with elementary students. Forms are due back by Monday, October 4th. High school students can get a flu shot form in the main office. Flu shots will be on campus October 7th.

Reminder: The Oden alumni game will be this Saturday, October 2, at 5pm. There will be a festival with live music, games, and food plates starting at 3pm on the Oden campus. Food plates are 5 dollars a plate. Donation jars will be setup as well if you'd like to donate to the Oden
athletic fund. Entry to the alumni game will be through an item donation. Towels, bottles drinks such as water and Gatorade, and laundry detergent are acceptable items! Go Wolves!

Wednesday, September 29, 2021 is declard as 2021 "A Day of Prayer for Arkansas Students". Act 902 - An Act to "Establish a Day of Prayer for Arkansas Students" is declared for the last Wednesday in September by Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson. "Citizens of all faiths and backgrounds are encouraged to voluntarily join in prayer for the success and safety of our students."
