Seven members of Acorn FCCLA and their adviser, Mindy Lyle attended National FCCLA’s Capitol Leadership Conference in Washington DC last week. They joined other FCCLA members from across the nation to use their voice to promote the need for the continuation of congressional support to fund Career and Technical Education and gain the support necessary to ensure all students have access to Family and Consumer Science Education. Students learned how to advocate on Capitol Hill and with their local administration. Acorn students also toured various museums and monuments, the United States Capitol, and Mt Vernon.
