Ouachita River School District will be accepting sealed bids May 13, 2022 - June 15, 2022 on a 2006 BLUE BIRD Bus. 2006 BLUE BIRD Bus details include: - 72 passenger - 182,875 odometer miles - C7 CAT Motor - Bus does not run. Will be sold “as is”. Sealed bids should be submitted to the ORSD Administration Office by 12:00 PM (noon) on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. Bids will be opened and reviewed at ORSD Board Meeting on Monday, June 20, 2022. AHS Hosts HomeLife Academy On Wednesday, May 11th, HomeLife Academy Director Marleen McIntyre gave a presentation to students in Mrs. Mindy Lyle’s Career Development Class and upperclassmen interested in learning more about early childhood opportunities with HomeLife Academy. Mrs. McIntyre shared the vision and expansion of HomeLife Academy and gave an overview of the early childhood programs offered for infant, toddler, preschool children and potentially school age children in after school care programs. She explained the process of obtaining early childhood certification for licensure and encouraged students to obtain additional certifications that can be earned in high school. Currently in Mrs. Mindy Lyle’s Career and Technical Education classes at Acorn High School, students can earn CPR, ServSafe Food Handler, and ServSafe Food Manager. Each of these certifications would be very beneficial for working in this type of workplace and environment.
