UARM Student Affairs Staff Conduct Senior Presentation
On Wednesday, October 9th, the Unviersity of Arkansas Rich Mountain conducted a presentation with Acorn High School Class of 2025. Important information about admissions, scholarships, financial aid, and scholarships was presentated .

UALR Hosts Counselors Luncheon and Presentation
On Friday, October 4th, the Unviersity of Arkansas at Little Rock hosted a luncheon and presentation for high school counselors on the UALR campus. Various campus departments presented information on admissions, finanical aid, scholarships and academic programs. Counselors in attendance received a scholarship that can be given to a UALR entering freshman for fall 2025.

Acorn Schools’ Host 2024 Harvest Festival
On the evening of Friday, October 11th, Acorn Public Schools hosted the annual Harvest Festival event. The event is a tradition for Acorn Public Schools and held each fall on the Acorn campus to provide an engaging, fun, and celebratory experience for students, families, staff and community. Each grade level, from preschool to grade 12, hosts games or activities to raise money for grade level special projects as well as to enhance and enrich classroom experiences for students.
The crowning event at Harvest Festival is Acorn Schools’ 2024-2025 Royalty Court presented and first, second and third place winners recognized for Acorn Preschool, Acorn Elementary School and Acorn High School for their fundraising efforts.

Good Luck @ the State Tennis Match today, Girls. Adalyn Bohlman, Addi Ledbetter, Kaitlynn Ledbetter, & Lainee Shaddon represent Ouachita River as the Acorn Lady Tigers Tennis Team coached by Scott Bohlman. They head into Fort Smith today for the first round of State. Kaitlynn & Lainee will team up in about an hour, and Addi & Adalyn will be next!


Acorn Tigers & Lady Tigers will kick off their season on Friday, October 18th at 500pm. Come on out and support the Junior Teams when they compete in the Annual Blue VS Gold Teams!! Then, root for the Senior Teams as they take on the Alumni Tigers and Lady Tigers. Entry is Donations only.


TimberWolf Tipoff October 18th @ 530PM. Come show your Oden Timberwolves and Lady Timberwolves some support to start their season. Entry is Donations Only. Its going to be a fun night come enjoy the TIMBERWOLF TIPOFF


AHS National Honor Society Inducts New Members
On October 8th, Acorn High School National Honor Society held an induction ceremony to welcome new members. National Honor Society is a prestigious honor organization recognizing members for academic achievement, leadership, and service. The program included: Welcome by President Damon Cruz, Pledge of Allegiance by secretary KaitLynn Ledbetter and invocation, description of NHS characters by each current NHS Officer, and Ceremony Closing by Michelle McGee, AHS National Honor Society Advisor. NHS Guest Speaker James Spradlin gave a riveting speech on the founding principles of our country’s forefathers in leading the United States and how the principles apply to our service, civic responsibility, and leadership as citizens. Refreshments were served at the close of the ceremony.

Carolina Critters are coming to Acorn Elementary on Friday, October 18 at 9:00! This is a mobile educational program that will share valuable information about life cycles, food chains, conservation, and much more. With parental permission, AES students have the optional opportunity to enjoy a one-to-one experience with some unique animal ambassadors. Look for these permission slips in your child's backpack.
We are looking forward to welcoming Carolina Critters to our school!

Carmack Awarded AYE Scholarship
Acorn High School Senior Kohlea Carmack is a recipient of the Arkansas Youth (AYE) Expo Scholarship for $1,000 - University of Arkansas Livestock Judging Team for 2025-2026 year.
The scholarship awards were presented at the AYE Celebration of Champions event in Fayetteville.
