Attention Acorn Juniors and Seniors: Prom is Saturday, April 17th. Pictures will be at 4:00 p.m at Janssen Park. Prom starts at 6:00 p.m and ends at 10 p.m. it is at Grace Bible Church.

ODEN CAMPUS ANNOUNCEMENT: We will be taking the ACT Aspire next week on campus. MONDAY AND TUESDAY we will test 7th and 8th grade VIRTUAL STUDENTS. WEDNESDAY’s testing is for onsite students GRADES 6-10 in English and Reading. THURSDAY’s testing is for onsite students GRADES 6-10 in Math. FRIDAY's testing is for on site students GRADES 6-10 in Writing and Science.

Acorn Elementary will be having a Scholastic Book Fair starting Monday, April 5th.
Students may shop the book fair during the school day Monday-Friday from 8:00-11:30.

ODEN CAMPUS ANNOUNCEMENT: Oden campus ACT Aspire Testing begins next Monday and concludes Thursday, April 22. Additional information will follow. WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP YOUR STUDENT DO HIS/HER BEST ON THE ASPIRE TEST? 1. Make sure your student gets a good night's sleep. 2. A good breakfast on test day is fuel for the brain. 3. Arrive on time for the assessment. 4.Encourage your child to do his/her best.
Annually, Governor Asa Hutchinson and First Lady Susan Hutchinson traditionally host an event recognizing Arkansas' most outstanding high school seniors from around the State. From the Class of 2021, Acorn High School proudly selected Jayden Quebedeaux and Corryn Holland for this honor and to recognize their excellent academic achievements. Congratulations, Jayden and Corryn!

Today the Governor lifted the mask mandate across Arkansas. The Arkansas Department of Education has directed schools to meet two conditions before discontinuing the use of masks. First, the ORSD Ready for Learning Committee must meet and re-evaluate our safety measures given the Governor's announcement. Second, the ORSD School Board must meet and approve the safety recommendations of the Ready for Learning Committee. Until then, all students, teachers, and staff must continue to wear their masks at school. We will update you as more information is available.

ATTENTION ACORN 2021 SENIORS: LAST DAY for Seniors is May 14, 2021. Graduation practice will be Wednesday, May 19th @ 10 am in the new gym. Graduation will be Thursday, May 20th @ 7 pm in the new gym.
ODEN CAMPUS ANNOUNCEMENT: Oden campus ACT Aspire Testing begins Monday, April 5 and concludes Thursday, April 22. Additional information will follow. WHAT ASPIRE TESTS WILL MY CHILD TAKE? All students in grades 3-10 will take Reading, Writing, English, Math, and Science Aspire tests. The ACT Aspire is a 4.5 to 5 hour online criterion-referenced assessment. This will be the fifth year that Arkansas has given the Aspire test. Parents will receive score reports which will provide information regarding each student's individual progress over the last two years.

While state tests are not the only measurement used to determine how your child is doing, it does enable educators to compare how students are progressing over time. This helps inform teachers on how to develop plans regarding student growth and learning loss.
