Oden students will be gathering to meet on the Oden Schools' front lawn this Wednesday , 7:50 - 8:00 am. Come out and join in prayer for our school!

Students in Acorn Food Production began germinating basil, rainbow chard, kale, and arugula seeds today. These seeds will be watered every day and transferred to their new classroom hydroponic tower garden in 1-3 weeks depending on growth.

UARK Visits AHS On Thursday, September 9th, University of Arkansas Fayetteville Admissions Counselor, Megan Garland met with Acorn High School juniors and seniors and gave an overview and information on programs, services, and scholarship opportunities for prospective students. Students were provided viewbooks and contact reference bookmarks including important deadlines. Ouachita River School District values the collaborative partnership with postsecondary institutions in helping our students be prepared for life. Thank you!

Students enrolled in the Construction Trades Program at Ouachita River Schools worked on this campus project the week of September 13-17, 2021 under the direction and leadership of Mr. Ricky Dollar, Construction Trades Instructor at Acorn High School. Acorn Elementary Hosts Electrical Safety Magic Show On Friday, September 17th, Acorn Elementary School hosted Rich Mountain Electric Cooperative of the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas for a “magic show” on electrical safety in the Acorn Cafetorium. Scott Davis presented the educational, interactive program using various magic tricks to engage the students in learning electrical safety precautions. The audience participants and attendees included students in grades 5th & 6th. Representing Rich Mountain Electric Cooperative for the program was John Larucci, RMEC Director of Member Services and Safety Coordinator. Ouachita River School District would like to say “Thank You” to Rich Mountain Electric Cooperative and the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas for such a great program to teach students the importance of electrical safety!

Oden campus news: Excitement is in the air on the Oden Campus for the up coming 21-22 Timberwolves basketball season, and t-shirt order forms have been sent home if you would like to order a Oden Timberwolves basketball shirt. Order forms along with the money need to be turned into the high school office no later than October 8. If you would like to purchase one and need a order form, you can call the school and we will get one sent to you. GO TIMBERWOLVES!
