In 2015 Colby Singleton joined the Ouachita River Schools’ family, teaching at Acorn High School. In her teaching career she has taught grades 4th – 12th and currently teaches high school English Composition I & II, Language Arts, Journalism, and Oral Communications both for high school and concurrent college credit.  She also serves the Ouachita School District as Literacy/Academic Coach.

Colby is the 2003 alumnae of Hatfield High School and holds a BS in Middle Level Education and MA in TESOL with both undergraduate and graduate degrees from Arkansas Tech University. She is certified in all subjects 4 - 8, English/Language Arts 7-12, Journalism 7-12, Speech/Oral Communications 7-12, and ESL K-12.

“My Acorn students are the best of the best. The relationships built here are truly family-like, and I could never bring myself to leave. Go Tigers!" stated Singleton. Her colleagues describe her as a proven leader, dedicated to student success, and supportive.

Colby and her college sweetheart and husband, Gary, have four children: Avery, Garrison, Bradley, and Jep. They spend a lot of quality time as a family being outside on their farm with their cows, horses and chickens, spending time fishing and at the lake, or playing softball and baseball. The love of reading is evident in their family. Church and faith are top priorities and each share responsibilities such as; Sunday School teacher, praise team and choir members, and various committees.
