State Cross Country this Sat. Nov. 9th at Oaklawn Track in Hot Springs

Boys @ 12:00pm and Girls @ 1:15pm

 

If riding bus, we leave @ 9:00 am.

 

 If riding with parent just let Coach Willsey know.  Boys need to be at Oaklawn by 11:00 and Girls by 12:00 pm

Bus Parking: -Bus parking is in the North Parking lot across from First Baptist Church, Oaklawn staff will help direct where to park and where to exit.

-Spectator parking is at Bell St. and Oaklawn St. lots across from Oaklawn. Also, across from the bus parking lot in the fenced First Baptist Church lot and also on the main campus of First Baptist Church except for the north side of the Church on the gym side which will remain open for upward bound basketball on Saturday. Parking attendants are supposed to be over there on the main campus to help spectators with parking.

-Parking lot maps should be on the AAA website under Cross Country/Track.

Entrance to meet: -Teams and spectators can enter through the Fence entrance in the North bus parking lot and also through the alley entrance on the North side of the main Oaklawn building. Similar to the Lake Hamilton meet last month.

-Per AAA rules for State Championships all spectators will be charged a $6 entrance fee to watch the meet. Restrooms:-Reminder there are two buildings in the fenced in tent area for restrooms. 1 is located in the concession stand building on either side, 1 is located on the south end of the tent area up on the hill, and there is to be 24 portable Port-A-Potties to help accommodate the crowd that will also be in the fenced in tent area that will be along the North side of the tent area.

-Reminder that per rules of Oaklawn no teams are allowed to bring in food for their athletes. Concessions will be available for athletes and spectators at the concession building.

Packet Pick-up:

-Packet Pick-up with chips, coaches instructions, course maps, starting box assignments will be at the awards gazebo. Reminder that in your packet there will be two copies of your team’s roster entries. One copy must be signed and turned in at registration for the AAA.

-If you need to substitute a runner Saturday morning you’re asked to do this 1hr. before your teams race by taking one of the two copies of your roster and writing in your substituted runner and turn this sheet into the registration table.

Chip Removal:

-Chip Removal will be done by the schools themselves, there will be no workers cutting off chips at the finish line. Runners will finish each race and then exit out of the chute and will remove the chips when they can accordingly to each school’s Coach. Each school’s Coach is responsible for returning their team’s chips to the chip timing trailer following their races. Your school will be billed for any unreturned chips!!!

Awards:-Race results can be found live online at race-wizard.com.  -Since chip timing is being used, please check the results when they are available to make sure all your runners’ chips read properly across the finish mat and that they are in the results. If you find that a runner is missing please see the finish timing judge to make this correction-
